The rooms were big and beds comfy.

The rooms were big and beds comfy. Location is superb and so close to everything.

Nothing to complain about, it was all very easy and comfortable. It was a bit loud outside and you need a €20 deposit for the key.

Awesome location, perfect for whoever is walking through the...

Awesome location, perfect for whoever is walking through the city all day and only want a good bed to sleep.

That said, the reception was pretty careless and the thing I really did not like was to have to pay for the bed sheets. It should definitely be included in the price shown on booking.

Bad service

You have to pay more 3 euro for sheet. It’s like an extra price I have to pay. And the staff’s attitude was bad. And the kitchen is even Not a kitchen. It’s impossible to Cooke there. Only one oven and a few plate in kitchen.

The room was clean and I was pleasantly surprised since this was my first time staying in a hostel. The location was great! We walked from the train station and the Cathedral.

No toilet paper or paper towels in the shared bathroom!

Rooms were spacious and location is great.

The kitchen didn't have any crockery, only a microwave and kettle. Had to pay for bedding even though I had a sleeping bag.

Very friendly staff, super close to the center.

Very friendly staff, super close to the center. The bed was really comfortable and the heat in the room:just perfect.

The walls are a bit thin so if you're unlucky to have a loud group, get your earphones ready. The fridge is quite small. There was a guy who filled all the fridge with his stuffs so i barely put my sandwiches in but that's up to the other guests.

No acceptable

On arrival a member knew no English so wasn't able to tell us that her colegue was running late for check in. Once they arrived 15min late they were slow, making you pay for sheets even if you have alternative sleeping gear. As well as an unexpected €20 bind for a key. Once at the room they hadn't even finished cleaning the room, beds UN maid and still vacuuming. I would not stay here again.

Elevator brokedown throughout my stay. Room is on 5th floor ! Very tiring to walk up & down RUDE & UNFRIENDLY STAFF ! slow wifi. Very dirty kitchen and utensils.

You get what you pay for

I traveled alone and stayed at the place for 2 nights, the big plus is that the hostel is really close to the Dom and the Ludwig Museum, two places which I enjoyed thoroughly and would recommend to anyone interested in seeing Cologne. The place was clean enough, I had enough space to sleep, although no locker to keep my things, and what's worse is because the weather was too hot, we always left the door open so a bit fresh air can come through so it was not very secured (more on that matter: I visited Cologne on what seemed to be the hottest week in the whole recorded history of Germany, still they couldn't provide a single fan to help us cool off a bit, which is a shame, because I've stayed in Germany for 2 years now and I am quite sure the hot weather in summer won't get better any time soon). There are two bathroom for men and women respectively, each has three showers, but the showers are not totally separated, in a way that if you want to change your clothes, you still have to step out of the shower, so a little bit less privacy than I would appreciate. The toilets did not have any locks either. Like other reviews have stated, yes they charge 3 euro for the bed sheets, I think they could just simply add it to the price so guests won't get irritated for random things like that. I would not recommend cooking for yourself at the place, because the kitchen is quite uncomfortable, plus there are only a few plates, no bowl, no (clean) pot or pan. Making a sandwich would be okay, but having instant ramen would not. Still, for the price, it was quite okay.

Room okay, facilities disgusting, location perfect

- The location is absolutely amazing, right next to the cathedral. - I had no issues with people looking though my bags - The room was clean, simple and didn't smell bad. Also the bedding of the other people that stayed in that room were changed after each of them left.

- The facilities (toilets as well as the shower rooms) were not clean at all and showering was nearly impossible due to low water pressure. - Elevator didn't work - Staff wasn't unfriendly but also not very helpful when asked questions

„Zum Glück nur eine Nacht

Die Lage war gut, direkt am Dom.

Leider war das Zimmer nicht wirklich sauber und auch im Bad ließ die Hygiene zu wünschen übrig. Zudem hat der Fahrstuhl nicht funktioniert und die Eingangstür hat geklemmt. Auch etwas um seine Sachen einzuschließen wäre schön gewesen, wenn man nämlich mit fremden in einem Zimmer ist.

Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig zudem war das Bett bequem. Preis- Leistungsverhältnis ist natürlich gut und auch die Lage sehr gut.

Es gab für 6 mehrbettzimmer nur eine Dusche, welche zwar ursprünglich gut geputzt war, aber nach einem Tag in fragwürdigem Zustand. Steckdosen in den Zimmern waren weit weg vom eigenen Bett. Die gute Lage führt leider zu einem sehr hohen Lärmpegel.

Sehr schmutzige Duschen und Toiletten ( im Herrenklo wurde daneben uriniert und die duschen stanken auch nach Urin, im damenklo war eine Tür kaputt, aber es war sauber.

„Schöne Lage, aber unbequeme Übernachtung.

Die Lage war sehr zentral, der Preis günstig.

Im Kühlschrank und im Bad an der Lüftung war Schimmel, und in der Beschreibung war nicht die Rede davon, daß das Bett ein ziemlich unbequemes Klappbett ist. Ein Fenstergriff war so kaputt, daß er bei der kleinsten Berührung abging.

Nichts, die letzte Absteige, unter der Brücke kampieren kann man gut damit.

Die runtergewirtschafteten Räume im Haus, vor allem die gemeinschaftliche Lobby in der 1. Etage.

„Von Sauberkeit und Frische keine Spur.

Wenn alles sauber gewesen wäre gut, so war es echt ekelhaft. Hatten zum Glück eigene Decke mit.

„Ich suchte ein Hostel mit einem Filter MIT KUECHE und wurde enttaeuscht.

Die lage ist zentral.

Das Wasserkocher war stark verkalkt. Man darf kein Wasser dort kochen. Es gab kein Besteck, keine Becher und Teller. Angeblich alles geklaut. Es gab nur 2 Herdplatten, weder ein Topf noch eine Pfanne.

„Lage war spitze.

Lage war spitze. 5 Minuten zum Bahnhof und direkt in der Altstadt.

Personal war nicht kompetent. Wir mussten beim Einchecken über eine halbe Stunde warten, obwohl nur 3 weitere Gäste vor uns waren. Der Nachtwächter/Security war extrem unfreundlich, nahe zu schon richtig frech.

Der Schlafsaal war groß, hell und sauber mit direktem Blick auf den Dom.

Wir hatten zwei 3-Bett-Zimmer gebucht, allerdings einen 6-Bett-Schlafsaal bekommen. Die Zimmerbeschreibung war missverständlich und suggerierte, dass die Zimmer jeweils eine Dusche hätten. Tatsächlich gab es allerdings nur etagenweise Gemeinschaftsduschen. Das Personal war weder sonderlich kompetent noch freundlich. Eine Entschuldigung dafür, dass wir das falsche Zimmer bekamen, blieb aus. Die Sauberkeit von Dusche und Toilette lässt sehr zu wünschen übrig. Der Schlafsaal war groß, hell und sauber mit direktem Blick auf den Dom.

Der Blick auf den Dom und die absolut zentrale Lage des Hotels

Das Bad war überhaupt nicht sauber. In der Dusche waren Haare, im Waschbecken fehlte der Stöpsel wo man freie Sicht auf das Innenleben des Rohres hatte die Toilette und die kleine Ablage waren voller Staub. Denke, in der Toilette wurde innen mit der Bürste bissel rumgetrieben und ein neuer Klostein reingemacht, mehr nicht. Andererseits hab ich ja immer Desinfektionsmitteln dabei und wir waren nur paar Stunden zum schlafen dort. Gewünscht hätte ich mir zumindest einen KaffeeAutomaten im Haus aber dafür musste man aus dem Haus, zum nächsten Kiosk oder Bäcker. Wer keine hohen Ansprüche hat oder wie wir nur ein Wochenende dort verbringen will und sich wenig im Zimmer aufhält, ist es für den günstigen Preis ok.
